About us

Celebrating Women on Boards in 2022

Since Women on Boards UK was founded 10 years ago our aim has been to encourage, inspire and actively support women to find their own pathway to the boardroom.

Our members achieved on average one new board position each day - around 50% of which were first time positions.
Congratulations to you all!

Our Vacancy Board advertised 2700 roles over 2022, an average of 211 per month, bringing the total of roles posted since we started in 2012 to just under 22,000.

These roles cover the full range of board opportunities including 31% that are remunerated and 20% Chair roles.

This year we launched our Bespoke NED Search service which worked with around three organisations a month to actively target suitable members to expand longlists.

The support we provide our members is central to what we do, including our unique 1-on-1 support offer.

Our team provided nearly 400 support calls in 2022, including personal Board CV reviews and pre-interview connections to ensure our members do themselves justice.

We run a wide range of events and networking opportunities for our members. In 2022 we brought together 5,000 attendees.

We launched our new Directors’ Circle events to support our most experienced members. And, as well as our virtual events, we were delighted to be back in person, including at our events to celebrate our 10th birthday in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester and London.

in-house with our partners

Working with Corporate Partners to nurture diverse talent

In 2022 we ran 160 in-house workshops, to develop their people, regardless of gender, to be the inclusive leaders we need.
We loved working with all our Corporate Partners!
More about becoming a Corporate Partner

We work with over 30 Corporate Partners, supporting their diverse talent to consciously manage their careers and realise their leadership potential through workshops and tailored support. In 2022 we ran over 160 workshops in-house for our Corporate Partners, to develop their people – regardless of gender – to be the inclusive leaders we need.

Our Corporate Partners are leading firms in professional services, tech, higher education and more who are committed to diversifying their talent pipeline.

We don’t tell people what their career should look like, but equip talented professionals with research-based information on how to progress – combined with the lived experience of the female leaders who deliver the sessions. Find out about the benefits of becoming a Corporate Partner.

Celebrating 10 years

Thank you to everyone, but most of all our members, for making the last 10 years so successful.
We look forward to building the next 10 together.
Join us today

In what has been a special year for us, we thank everyone who has supported us this year and over the last 10 years. A huge thanks of course to our members who are the ‘secret sauce’ that make our membership so impactful. Our members generously offer mutual support to each other informally – thank you to all who have supported another woman in her board career.

There’s never been a better time to join Women on Boards. We’d love you to be part of the next 10 years.
