Terms & Conditions

Refunds for all our individual events are available if notice is given three business days prior by email or telephone, or one month prior to first session of our programmes. After this, a transfer to another event will be given. Cancellations on the same business day will not generally be eligible for a refund or transfer, however you may substitute someone to come in your place. In the case of exceptional circumstances let us know and we will consider a refund/transfer.

Life in the boardroom is rarely clear-cut. Our clinic illuminates those ‘grey areas’ that YOU are facing as a board member. We share expert input, alongside peer opinion in a warm, supportive environment.

During this hour-long interactive webinar, we will discuss real boardroom dilemmas. You can submit your current boardroom concerns for discussion, as well as drawing out issues from our wider membership’s experience.

Sample topics for discussion may include:

  • Dealing with an ineffective SID or Chair
  • Relationship between ‘main’ and subsidiary board committees
  • Inducting new trustees efficiently

This small group discussion will be led by Louis Cooper, WB Directors’ Board Evaluation Lead. Louis will bring more than two decades of experience as a governance specialist to bear on the issue in hand. Participants will also be able to share their perspective and support other members.

Please note – this session does not provide legal or other advice nor implies a formal advisory relationship. It simply facilitates sharing of perspectives and provides ‘a sounding board’ with a group of experienced peers.

These sessions are held under strict Chatham House rule. By registering for the event, all participants agree to honour this confidentiality agreement.

Who should join this session?

Current board members on any type of board are encouraged to join – to raise a live concern or simply to learn from others and offer peer support.

Aspiring board members are most welcome to attend to build their understanding of governance. However, we would suggest you have a solid grounding in the role of the board as this is not an introductory session. If you do not yet have a basic understanding of governance, do take our Governance Essentials Quick Course before attending.

How to submit your issue for discussion

Simply register for this event above and email us at contact@wbdirectors.co.uk, ideally 48 hours in advance of the session.

You should include a brief description of the dilemma or question, the sector and size of organisation your board governs and your position on the board (adviser/ NED / Chair etc). Do also indicate if you would like to remain anonymous or are happy to raise the issue in-person, under Chatham House rule.
