We’re delighted to welcome Sheryl Cuisia to our July Director Circle event — a trailblazer in shareholder engagement and a challenger to conventional governance thinking. With 20+ years of experience, including founding and selling Boudicca to Equiniti and now leading The Engagement Appeal (TEA), Sheryl brings a bold, purpose-driven voice to the future of capital markets.
Our early evening conversation with Sheryl will be no ordinary conversation, it will challenge you and your thinking on AGM’s, how you consider the retail investor which is today largely ignored and make you think again about how to deal with activist’s investors like Saba Capital Management.
As a ‘serial’ AGM attendee, active investor, and researcher, Sheryl has a rare lens on how companies interact with their shareholder base — particularly retail investors of late — and what separates proactive boards from those caught unprepared in moments of challenge.
A highlight of the evening: Sheryl will share her analysis of the ongoing Saba Capital Management activism campaign — a high-profile case involving US hedge fund Boaz Weinstein’s push for change across multiple UK Investment Trusts. Her take will unpack what the Saba strategy reveals about UK boardroom behaviour, why some Investment Trusts respond with agility while others falter under scrutiny, and what this means for directors facing increasingly sophisticated activist strategies.
Expect sharp insights, rich debate, and real-world lessons on how boards can move from passive to prepared when it comes to investor engagement. This is a rare opportunity to hear from someone who doesn’t just talk about shareholder engagement — she lives it.
Kindly hosted by Pinsent Masons this session will also include networking time to connect with other board members in our Directors’ Circle over drinks and nibbles in a warm, supportive atmosphere.
