Position Description

Muircroft Housing Association is looking to appoint up to four new Board Members in 2026 to strengthen its governance and support the organisation as it continues to deliver high-quality homes and services to its residents.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about social housing and community impact to contribute their skills and experience at board level. Muircroft welcomes interest from candidates with a range of professional backgrounds who can provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge, and strong governance.

Selection Criteria

Muircroft welcomes applications from individuals with experience in areas such as:

  • Strategic leadership and governance
  • Financial management, audit or risk oversight
  • Housing sector knowledge or social housing experience
  • Legal, regulatory or compliance expertise
  • Asset management, development or property expertise
  • Customer / resident engagement and community insight
  • Digital, technology or data strategy
  • Sustainability / ESG and environmental management
  • Commercial, business development or partnership building

Time Commitment

Board Members are expected to attend approximately 4–6 Board meetings per year, along with occasional committee meetings where relevant. Meetings are typically held in the evening.

Board Members are also expected to prepare for meetings in advance and may occasionally attend strategy sessions, training, or resident engagement events. Overall, the time commitment is expected to be around 1–2 days per month.
