Join us for a timely and engaging virtual session exploring the new Cyber Governance Code of Practice, recently launched by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT).

Cyber security is now a core boardroom issue – and organisations of all types and sizes are at risk. The new Code has been developed to help boards of medium and large organisations navigate this evolving risk landscape with greater clarity and confidence. Together with a dedicated training offer and practical toolkit, these resources aim to support boards in fulfilling their responsibilities for cyber risk oversight and organisational resilience.

We’re delighted to welcome Cub Llewelyn-Davies, Deputy Director for Cyber Resilience Policy at the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), who will guide us through the purpose and content of the Code, what it means for board governance, and how its principles can be applied in practice.

Whether you’re already actively engaged in cyber oversight or looking to build your board’s capability in this area, this session offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding and connect with fellow board members tackling similar challenges.

This event will be hosted by Rowena Ironside, Co-Founder, NED and past Chair, of Women on Boards UK. Rowena has significant experience in leading cyber security initiatives, including providing feedback on NCSC board guidance.

This interactive session will also include a dedicated Q&A, allowing you to ask specific questions and gain further clarification.

This event is open to both current and aspiring non-executive directors. Participants should have a basic awareness of cyber security to ensure they get the most out of the session. Those who are new to the topic may find it useful to complete our on-demand Quick Course: Cyber Literacy for the Boardroom in advance.

Speakers

Cub Llewelyn-Davies, Head of Strategic Resilience Interventions, National Cyber Security Centre

Working in the National Cyber Security Centre, Cub’s primary role is Head of Strategic Resilience Interventions, focused on improved cyber resilience practices across the UK Economy and Society.

Cub has been at the National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ, since 2017. His roles have included building resilience across civil society and developing the inaugural citizen resilience programme following the unprecedented shift to home working at the start of the pandemic, before being seconded to Whitehall to provide advice to Ministers and Senior Civil Servants on digital, cyber and national security policy issues. Cub now leads a team focussed on improving how cyber risk is embedded within organisations existing business strategy and governance mechanisms and working with the cyber insurance industry to ensure it’s a force for good in the overall resilience of the UK.

Rowena Ironside, Women on Boards founder and non-executive directors and Chair
