But what really happens in the boardroom in firms in this space? How does balancing ethics, financial return and FCA regulation work in practice, with different ownership structures and purpose-driven company strategy? And – if you’re an aspiring NED – what skills are these boards looking for, and how do you get the roles?

At this special event, Fiona Hathorn, our CEO, will explore what it’s really like to be on the board of an ethical Financial Services company with two experienced NEDs.

Alessandra Mongiardino is a NED at Triodos Bank, a B-Corp and the leading expert in sustainable finance connecting savers and lending to progressive organisations working to bring about positive and lasting change.

Pam Vick chairs the board of Ovation Finance Ltd, a B-Corp, employee-owned financial planning firm, aiming to help their customers to use their wealth to accumulate life, not the other way round – “Helping you to become happier, not just wealthier”.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for anyone currently serving on or aspiring to a board role in the financial services space to explore the governance of and opportunities in ethical business models.

Kindly hosted by Schroders, this session will also include networking time to connect with other members over drinks and nibbles in a warm, supportive atmosphere.

“It totally surpassed my expectations! Inspirational! I made some great contacts.”

“The session was a true inspiration to me. It was just what I needed at this time. The speakers you chose shared great insights on what NED roles they’d done, why they’d chosen them and how they got them. I also liked the Q&A session where the panel shared their hints on how to demonstrate what you will bring to the organization.”
