We’re delighted to invite you to our next Board Check-In session, where we’ll be exploring what it means to serve as a Non-Executive Director on a Sports Board — a particularly relevant conversation given the exciting period we are currently in for women’s sport.
This interactive session will feature insights from two experienced NEDs, Alison Thorne and Denise Richmond, who bring a wealth of knowledge from across both sporting and non-sporting boardrooms. They’ll reflect on their journeys into Sports Board roles, how they navigated the appointment process, and how these roles differ from — or complement – both their wider board portfolios and executive roles.
Together, we’ll consider the specific dynamics, governance structures, and stakeholder expectations that shape board service in the sporting sector. Whether you’re already serving on a Sports Board, considering a future role, or simply curious about what the sector can offer, this session will offer timely insights and inspiration.
There will be space for open discussion and Q&A, allowing attendees to share experiences and raise questions in a warm, supportive environment. We’ll be operating under the Chatham House Rule to encourage open and honest dialogue.
