Join us for this Board Check-In featuring Serena Lang and Dr Annette Nabavi, who will share their insights on serving on listed boards and compare this experience to their other board roles. They will also discuss the challenges and opportunities that come with being a NED of a listed company.

Speakers

Serena Lang
Serena Lang is an experienced Chair and Non-Executive Director with a proven track record in providing strategic oversight and guidance. She currently serves as Chair of Trifast plc and holds Independent NED positions on the Boards of Henry Boot and Ainscough Crane Hire, where she also chairs the Responsible Business Committee.
Her areas of expertise include strategy development, M&A, corporate governance, and financial and commercial performance. Throughout her career, she has chaired remuneration and nomination committees and served on audit committees, ensuring robust governance and compliance.
Serena has a strong background in global strategic leadership, with a focus on growth and business transformation. She has held key positions in major blue-chip companies, including Invensys, BP, Cap Gemini, and Ernst & Young, where she spearheaded digital transformation and M&A initiatives.

Dr Annette Nabavi
Dr Annette Nabavi currently serves on a couple of AIM listed boards. She is the Senior Independent Director and also Remuneration Committee Chair at Eleco Plc, which develops software for the built
environment. She is a Non-Executive Director at Iomart Group Plc and again chairs the Remuneration Committee. Iomart is a secure cloud solutions and IT managed services company.
Dr. Nabavi brings over 30 years of experience in operational and advisory roles in the technology sector, with significant expertise in driving growth through acquisition and partnerships. She has also served in various Non-Executive Director roles in both public and private companies, including a seven-year tenure at AIM-listed Maintel Holdings Plc, a cloud and managed services company, where she also chaired the Remuneration Committee.
In 2018, Dr Nabavi was shortlisted for The Sunday Times’ Non-Executive Director Awards as AIM Director of the Year. She is the Finance Director for Women in Telecoms and Technology, a Not-for Profit organisation, and has served as a judge for the prestigious World Communications Awards.
