This year, we welcomed thousands of members to our thriving network and maintained our 5* independent review ratings.

What we do works!

Over 130 members have already benefited from our ‘Elevating your NED Brand’ Masterclass, launched this summer, and sharing the secrets of how experienced directors present their value on Board CV, LinkedIn, Covering letters and networking.

To further support our members’ board journey, we provided free pre-interview support to a member every other day, helping them present themselves confidently and effectively to interviewers – a commitment to support that is completely unique to our network.

We’re thrilled that our members gained a new board role every working day – and 40% of the board roles secured by our members were paid positions!

Building Better Boards

"I am delighted that this recruitment round was one of the most efficient and effective, thanks to the support of the Bespoke NED Search service."

We solidified our commitment to building better boards by launching our Board Evaluation service, designed to enhance performance, addressing team dynamics and specific boardroom issues as needed. We introduced our new Boardroom Essentials course to cover the basics all board members need to know to get board-ready.

We proudly facilitated 15 Bespoke NED Searches, successfully connecting qualified candidates with organisations across various sectors, including innovative start-ups, education boards, an innovative climate solution organisation, and an NHS trust. This highlights our commitment to improving board diversity and effectiveness.

With over 2,000 vacancies posted across all sectors – 30% of them paid – our Vacancy Board remains the best place to get a complete overview of the board roles available in the UK (with some international roles also available!). And members love it – we recorded an average of 12k views a month across all the opportunities.

Supporting diverse in-house talent

"WB Directors not only helped me with my board ambition but also with my professional ambitions. I am very lucky to have worked for a Corporate Partner and, through this was introduced to the idea of being on a board in my late 30s. I never thought that was possible."

Through our Corporate Partnerships, we have a broader reach than ever, supporting companies across various sectors, including regulators, technology firms, energy and water companies, law firms, Premier League football clubs, and esteemed business schools. We have welcomed thousands of our Corporate Partners’ employees to our growing community to gain further support and insight, enabling them to integrate community board roles alongside their day jobs.

Many employees are unaware of the opportunities available to join a board early in their careers, but we know that pursuing NED roles can be beneficial at any career stage. Through our newly launched Career Check-ins, we’ve empowered over 500 attendees to re-evaluate and broaden their perspectives on career development. Our most popular in-house event for corporate members, “7 Reasons to Join a Board,” is helping to change this perception and is opening their minds to the possibilities of board membership.

A circle of support to succeed in the boardroom

"The sharing of candid experiences was really insightful and encouraging, ... I left feeling more hopeful and with more tips to make my NED search more effective."

“Having the opportunity to meet dynamic women who were further on in their NED journey was inspiring.”

What truly sets us apart is the exceptional quality of our network. In addition to being unrivalled in our effectiveness in supporting members to gain NED roles, our community also elevates each other’s confidence and competence. Our members generously share their knowledge and expertise through insightful podcasts, in-person networking events, tailored one-on-one support and more.

This year, we have launched the Boardroom Essentials course, with five expert members sharing ‘what you need to know’ as a non-expert in key boardroom areas. With this low-cost course, our members can benefit from years of experience to operate as a fully rounded NED.

Our Directors’ Circle WhatsApp community swapped thoughts and insights across topics spanning corporate governance failure in the Post Office scandal, the validity of carbon credit off-setting in ESG strategies, the new duty to prevent sexual harassment, and the challenges of multiple corporate tech provisions as a portfolio NED!

This collaboration solidifies our reputation as the UK’s most impactful NED network.

Together, we are reshaping the boardroom landscape and unlocking new pathways for professional and personal growth. By joining our community, you can access a ready-made network of like-minded people. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of board experience, our community is for you.
