Our Impact

"I’m very grateful for the support, encouragement, and inspiration that Women on Boards continues to provide – it is a really motivating community."
Amanda Shields
Board member, Dorset County Football Association

Since our launch in 2012, we have been proud to contribute to a more diverse and effective boardroom landscape. Over the past 13 years, thousands of members have secured their first and subsequent board roles, many more have explored the boardroom for the first time, and organisations have benefited from a more open and inclusive approach to board recruitment.

2025 Highlights

Our thriving community

The depth and quality of our community are some of our greatest strengths, shaped by members who share generously and support one another. Every year around 400 members make use of our 1-on-1 support, and since 2012 more than 45,000 people have attended our workshops, masterclasses and networking events.

Our long standing members and Ambassadors continue to champion our mission and share their insight generously, helping others along their board journeys.

Our Bursary programme , supported by Google Cloud, saw over 200 applicants for just 6 places. We are loving seeing how the exceptional women who are participating are progressing their board journeys.

The events programme across Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff continue to widen access to boardroom knowledge and help members build strong local networks.

Our vibrant Directors’ Circle, for our most experienced NED members, has now grown to more than 300 – meeting regularly online and in person, exchanging perspectives on the issues shaping boardrooms today.

Supporting better boards

Across more than 30,000 vacancies on our Vacancy Board over the past decade – a third of which were for paid roles – and over 100 bespoke searches, we have stayed true to our belief that stronger boards are built through diversity and openness.

Our Board Evaluation service has helped a wide range of organisations improve performance and address key boardroom challenges.

Growing future leaders

Our Corporate Partnerships have supported employees from more than 90 organisations into community and non executive roles. This year alone our team delivered over 85 in-house events to our current Corporate Partners.

Our popular Career Check ins continue to help our Corporate Partner employees step back, reflect and broaden their approach to career development.

The Next Chapter

Joining forces with Nurole allows us to continue all of this work with even greater scale and ambition.

We are very pleased that plans are now fully in place to move closer to our shared mission of creating the essential NED network in early 2026.

In January, we will introduce the new home for the Women on Boards community as part of a refreshed combined offer powered by Nurole, the UK’s leading board search specialist.

What our members say

Thank you to everyone for being such a valued part of our community.

We are excited to welcome you into this next chapter with us.
