After this, a transfer to another event will be given. Cancellations on the same business day will not generally be eligible for a refund or transfer, however you may substitute someone to come in your place. For this Member Check-in, we are delighted to be joined by Tamryn Rowlands and Neelu Agarwal who will share their experiences of balancing board roles with their wider responsibilites in life.

There will also be an opportunity for Q&A and discussion at this informal session.


Tamryn Rowlands

Tamryn Rowlands, CFA, Director is a member of BlackRock’s EMEA Institutional Client Business. She is responsible for growing and managing the UK Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) segment. She takes ownership for setting the strategic direction of their relationships with the LGPS investment pools.

Prior to her current role, she was a client lead within the Strategic Client Team, responsible for managing Corporate Pension client relationships across a diverse range of investments. Tamryn’s service with the firm dates back to 2007, including her years with Barclay’s Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009.

Tamryn has been active in utilising her experience to give back to the charity sector. She completed a Pilotlight project with a charity supporting families of children and young people with cancer in the East Midlands. The project aim was to set a new strategic direction for the charity and support the CEO in delivering this to the board. Tamryn is also an independent member of the Finance Committee for the Scout Association.

Tamryn is a CFA charter holder, holds the Management Certificate and earned a BSc degree in Management from the London School of Economics in 2007.

Neelu Agarwal

Neelu is a Board Member at Second step, since January 2021 and also a member of their Business development finance and equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee. Neelu balances this role alongside her busy executive role as PRA Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Bank of England.
