Ever wondered what it’s like to sit on a Building Society Board?
Want to know how ever changing regulation and legislation in Financial Services impacts Building Societies?
What skills are currently being sought by these boards and how do you find the opportunities?
Building Societies and Credit Unions together serve almost 26 million customers across the UK. They are an essential part in a diverse Financial Services sector serving savers, borrowers and the community. At this session we will hear from two experienced non-executives about how building societies differ and how that ethos translates to their governance.
They will share what appealed to them about joining a building society’s board and the challenges and rewards they have found in the role. We will also get some top tips for anyone targeting a role as a NED with a building society and what it takes to position yourself successfully.
This is a one-hour virtual event, free to our Full members. There will be opportunity for Q&A and discussion in a supportive environment.
